2024 PORSCHE TAYCAN DRIVING POV

Today we drove the Porsche Taycan. Extremely low to the ground and fully EV. I think at this price point you'd be better off buying a 718 or 911if you're looking for a performance vehicle. I wouldn't say this is my favorite Porsche, but probably because it was the base model.

Still really luxurious. If you are looking to buy a Porsche without all the bells and whistles this would be the go to. I do like the infotainment system, and how responsive the touch screen is. I also think the 4 door feature goes a long way as well especially if you have kids.

This would be a great alternative to the Panamera, but even then I feel the EV idea is still new. In contrast to Tesla, Porsche doesn't have their own superchargers so you would have to manually plan out your trip.

Do I think it's worth the price tag? No, I don't think you would feel like you're driving a $100,000+ car.

Do I think the ride quality is smooth? No, it was really low to the ground and you could feel every little bump.

It's almost like Porsche wanted to accommodate a family car without sacrificing much of the sports car, which would be frustrating for those in the market.

I feel like if you have that much money, and you walk into a Porsche dealer, you'd have to be a very specific customer to go for the Taycan over the other models. You'd be better of in a Cayenne, or Panamera.. I wouldn't be surprised if Porsche ends up discontinuing the Taycan, but who knows.

You wouldn't really get to experience the full package unless you go for the Turbo S or GTS, which as we know are extremely expensive, but there is a market for everyone. I think the Taycan is targeting tech gurus, and a younger age of tech savy buyers. I wouldn't count on your average 60 year old Porsche buyer to even understand all the tech this car has to offer lol.
