Sunday Love Song, This Never Happened Before, Paul McCartney

Good morning my beautiful friends.

So here we are at the start of a new journey and a new series I'm planning to do with my channel. A weekly Sunday Love Song.

The idea in time is to try and do a Sunday love song, a more chilled out track to ease you into your day of rest (or work if you're unlucky enough to work Sundays sometimes, like me lol). Initially I'll do songs that I adore but over time I'd like to see if people request songs and then I can try to do them. That's how I started doing these cover songs on my personal Facebook a few years ago. I can't promise to do every request but I'll try my best.

This weeks song is a hope a nice surprise to my good friend Judge Timbers.

As you may already know I am a huge Paul McCartney fan, having been brought up on his music by my mum as a child and inheriting her music and many of her likes after she passed away when I was 14. My mum is my biggest influence and the reason why I sing, she actively encouraged It when she was alive, even getting me into studios to sing with some big artists as a kid. In some ways she's the reason why I play instruments too, as far as we can tell no one in my family was musical so we don't know where I picked my musical ability (or inability as it sometimes seems ????????) but after she died my best friend could see I was suffering from her loss and taught me 3 chords on a guitar in the weeks after her passing and from that moment onwards I just found out what I could do. The first song I learnt was 'And I love her' the Macca written Beatles song.

So why a nice surprise to Judge Timbers? Well I wanted to try and improve my keyboard skills (arguably my weakest instrument) and I thought "well why not try 'This never happened before' as that seems uncomplicated". Then I tried to find the chords/structure only to find it's not really well documented. The song itself is a beautiful song from arguably Macca's finest post 2000 album "Chaos and Creation in the Back Yard" and guess who I found doing a guitar tutorial on the song? Yep my mate Judge Timbers. Watching the video and playing along on my keyboard as he played the guitar he explained that the song was actually the first dance at his and Mrs Timbers wedding. So right there and then I thought I'd do it properly to say thanks for his friendship which has been a lovely consequence of my YouTube channel.
