Yoko Ono and Sean Lennon invited artists to celebrate the late John Lennon on what would have been his 80th birthday, October 9, 2020. Artists were asked to join an online celebration of John's life celebrating community, creativity, and connection while raising the spirit of peace and love with great artists, people, and songs. Here, Sophie sings #Blackbird - and her video features a special cameo appearance by her son, Dashiell. #GimmeSomeTruth #Lennon80

Most assume that this Lennon/McCartney composition was actually written entirely by Paul himself. However, in his 1980 Playboy Magazine interview, John claims otherwise. “I gave Paul a line on that one, an important line, but it's really all him. Paul is good at that kind of guitar thing.” The identity of the “important line” has never been revealed. The song is credited on the Beatles "White Album" and sheet music for the song as "John Lennon and Paul McCartney."
