Sir Paul McCartney Pays Tribute to Visited Jimmy Buffett's House and Sang for His Family

People close to the celebrity said that four years prior to his death on Friday at the age of 76, Buffett received a skin cancer diagnosis. Later, the ailment developed into lymphoma, which took his life.

A close friend observed, "He lived his life in the sun, literally and figuratively."

Buffett began receiving hospice care on Monday, amid an outpouring of love from friends and family.

Sir Paul McCartney reportedly visited Buffett's house a week ago and sang for his family.

"He lived his life like a song until the very last breath and will be missed beyond measure by so many," the statement continued.

Buffett died not long after having to postpone several of his performances because of a number of illnesses.

Growing older is not for sissies, I assure you, Buffett said in May when he informed his audience that he had to "address some issues that needed immediate attention."
