Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr's shocking announcement earlier this year that the Fab Four will release one final song caused a huge uproar among Beatles fans all around the world.

The band's surviving members stated that the song—the group's final original recording—was put together using recordings of John Lennon, who was assassinated in 1980, and George Harrison, who passed away in 2001.

Although the name of the song has not been officially confirmed, it is popularly accepted to be 'Now and Then'.

When the band reunited for the Anthology project, Yoko Ono gave Paul, George, and Ringo a demo of one of her songs.

Old Lennon recordings were successfully used by The Beatles to create and release "Free As A Bird" and "Real Love," but "Now and Then" was shelved due to the poor quality of the tape and conflicting band opinions.

Sean Lennon, Paul, and Ringo have allayed concerns that George Harrison's guitar or Lennon's voice have been impersonated using artificial intelligence, reiterating that the technology has only been used to separate and clean up the originally-recorded material.

The song's release date has not been made public since the project was first mentioned, and bootleg solo Lennon versions of "Now and Then" have been covertly removed from YouTube.

Ringo told The AP that the song "should've been out already," suggesting that not just fans are impatient for it.

He added: "The rumors were that we just made everything up. He reiterated that there is no phony Lennon involved. As if we wouldn't already do it.

"The four Beatles are only going to appear on this track once in history. John, Ringo, George, and Paul.
