I had thought seeing Phil live in 2018 would be my first and last time.
Then, he added a 2nd US leg to his "Still Not Dead Yet" tour a year later.
He was visiting nearby Pittsburgh and Detroit (both 3+ hours away). Found some
tickets in 106 (similar to my seat in Columbus last year) in Detroit facing a
side stack. Found a couple friends to go & pulled the trigger. The ticket was pricey,
but Phil is worth it. He may look frail on stage (he walks with a cane & sits
nearly the entire show), but his vocal delivery is still spot on. Not only
that, his band is flawless. The setlist was similar to last year, however, he
replaced "Can't Turn Back The Years" & "You'll Be In My Heart" with a killer
version of "Don't Lose My Number". I was very happy w/ the change as DLMN
has always been a favorite song of his. They nailed it, too. My friends who
had come with me found an empty pair of seats closer to the stage, so I was
left alone with empty seats to my left and right. The crowd was great. My section
remained seated the entire night until the final song, "Take Me Home". I then
stood with everyone else. The sound does not change. I have found recording in
some arenas sitting down (as opposed to standing) can greatly impact the sound
quality - but here there was no difference. This was only my 2nd visit to
LCA. I was there right after it opened in 2017 seeing Paul McCartney. I really
love the arena. I hope to catch more shows there in the future. Enjoy this
recording and please share it with as many fans as possible.
