Hey guys! Here we are, back once again with another one of our many VIDEO ESSAYS! 2021 has been an eventful year for one notorious ex-Beatle. Paul McCartney* kicked off the year with the release of his jaw dropping solo album, McCartney III. Months later would see the release of his lyric book, giving us unparalleled insight into his Grammy winning song writing process. Thanksgiving rolled around and courtesy of overweight director Peter Jackson, the world was given Get Back. The brutally honest documentary depicts one of McCartney’s final Beatles endeavors. Now, after years in development, it feels appropriate - no, necessary - that we release this video.
You can consider this a pseudo sequel to Get Back, as we depict the fallout of Paul and John’s toilsome breakup. It’s the often overlooked, rarely told story behind McCartney’s most personal and innovative album. Heartbreak, struggle, and lust are the powerful emotions which bring this timeless and human story to life. As you watch the video, you get a sense of what it’s like to live as a musical icon. This video will cover the genesis of a song that is not only one of Paul McCartney's greatest creations, but also but his fond farewell to a friend who was tragically murdered by a man much fatter and uglier than he. What song is it that we're speaking of? Well, well. You think we'd just come out and tell you? Get real. You'll have to watch the video to figure that one out, fuckhead. You think we were born yesterday? But you really should watch the video. It's nice, slick, snappy, mildly clever, and generally just pretty well done in our opinion. But then again, we made it, so take all of that with a grain of salt.
There's tons of cool stuff in here like music, voice-over, motion graphics, and text - all of it made possible with incredible software like Premiere, After Effects, and Photoshop, all of it courtesy of Adobe!! All information in this essay was sourced directly from interviews with Paul McCartney and the numerous industry professionals who know him best.
We'd like to thank our numerous devoted viewers for being patient with us during the production of this video. It was a long time in the making - seven years, to be exact. You can't rush perfection, and like usual, we learned that one the hard way. Picture us all those years ago, sitting together on Mee-maw's rickety old porch swing, swaying gently in that aimless midsummer breeze, spinning yarns and dreaming up digital content for the enjoyment of strangers. Oh, how we laughed, imagining people despairing at the discovery that one of their elderly parents has quietly passed away while they were in the other room, or the noise a fat man might make when stabbed in the stomach - all the while, Mee-maw screaming from inside the house that she'd gotten her arm stuck down the toilet again and that she needs us strong boys to help get her out, that it hurts, oh Jesus it hurts. Somewhere in that haze of teenage dreams, the seed of this video was planted. If I could put those years into a little box to be felt once again at the lift of a lid, I would. But I can't. We and this video are all that are left from that time, now that Mee-maw is dead and buried, the bitch. When we die and the server farms run out of reserve power, it'll be gone forever. So watch the video while you still can. Put it on repeat and enjoy it over and over again. Think of it as a way to live forever.
*REMINDER: For those of you who may have forgotten, Paul McCartney was a prominent member of "The Beatles" and a British knight! (yes, they're real)
