Skipping around the timeline a bit as we approach the final three Beatles studio albums. While the canon is not written yet, I do know how the rough outline goes:

'Winedark Open Sea' is the eighth studio album by Paul McCartney, written shortly after the death of his wife Linda McCartney. The album repurposes recordings completed for the planned (first fully) collaborative Paul and Linda album, 'Ram', which would have explored experimental electronic music. However, only a few sessions were managed to be recorded before Linda's battle with breast cancer came to an end.

After her passing, a devastated Paul returned to the studio to try and distract himself. What emerged from the 'Ram' sessions and these 'drifting sessions' was 'Winedark Open Sea': Paul's final and most heartfelt love letter to his wife.

Widely regarded as one of the top albums by a former Beatle, 'Winedark Open Sea' helped solidify Paul as a steady force going into the 2000's, as well as bringing more attention and appreciation to Linda McCartney and her own ability as a musician.

(Further detail will be delved into in the document when completed)
