Paul McCartney thrills fans with 'very special' news

Sir Paul McCartney has returned to social media to make a "very special announcement" to his millions of fans.

Paul, 81, who grew up in Allerton, thrilled his followers with a rare update on Thursday. The Liverpool legend is about to embark on his GOT BACK tour.

He will first perform on a number of dates in Australia before then heading to Mexico and Brazil. Ahead of the first tour date, Paul shared a video with fans.

He said: "I'm heading back out on tour with a very special announcement for you. I'm adding one fan and a friend to my VIP guestlist on the final show of the tour in Rio de Janeiro. I'm setting you up with VIP tickets, access to the soundcheck, and to the meet and greet.

"Every entry supports Meat Free Mondays, making a difference to people, animal, and the planets. It's a cause very close to my heart and I thank you for your support".

In order to enter the competition, people need to donate $10 - or more - to Meat Free Monday, the not-for-profit campaign Paul, Mary and Stella McCartney launched in 2009. The cause is intended to "create a simple and accessible way for everyone beginning the journey to greener and healthier eating".
