On 29 November 1984, Paul McCartney's mischievous side was on full show during a live interview with his old school friend and Channel 4 News presenter, Peter Sissons. McCartney was promoting his new musical film Give My Regards to Broad Street, written by McCartney and starring himself alongside his wife, Linda McCartney, and fellow-Beatle Ringo Starr. While the film had been unsuccessful with the critics, McCartney was keen to defend it by all means – including roasting his fellow Old Liobian (the name given to graduates of the Liverpool Institute Old Boys' Association).
It has been announced that the Beatles are to release "the last Beatles song", Now and Then, on 2 November 2023. A much-anticipated announcement on 26 October 2023 revealed that the track, written and first recorded by John Lennon in 1979 (a year before his death), has been worked on by fellow Beatles Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr over a period of four decades. The recording has finally been completed by McCartney and Starr, the last remaining Beatles.
