An urban legend began circulating in the late 60s that Paul McCartney was killed in a car crash on November 9 1966 and was secretly replaced by a look alike named Billy Shears. The rumors were obviously untrue, but did cause Paul quite a bit of headache when reporters were hounding him so much about it.
