Though tributes to the late Jimmy Buffett, who passed away Sunday night at the age of 76, have been made by everyone from President Joe Biden to former President Bill Clinton, a particularly touching and lengthy post from a fellow musical great is offering personal insights into the late "Margaritaville" singer's personality.

Paul McCartney paid tribute to his friend on social media and shared memories of him along with admiration for his generosity, sense of humor, songwriting, and singing prowess.

the former Beatle said, "I've known Jimmy for a while and found him to be one of the kindest and most generous people."

"I recall a time when I was on vacation and wanted to perform but had forgotten to pack my guitar. He offered to fetch me one of his, but I objected, saying that I am left-handed. Jimmy loaned me one of his guitars for the length of the vacation, and his roadie had it restrung.

"After this generous deed, he gave me my own stunning left-handed guitar that was crafted by one of his guitar-making friends. Every time I play it now, the lovely instrument will serve as a reminder of what a terrific man Jimmy was.

He had a fantastic sense of humor and the most amazing desire for life. It was difficult for me to keep up with him when we were telling stories about the past since his were so exotic and luxurious and entailed sailing excursions, surfing, and other thrilling activities, McCartney added.

His eyes continued to gleam with a sense of humor that indicated, "I love this world and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it," right up until the very end.

Finally, his songwriting and voice skills are last but certainly not least. If someone said something intriguing, he would repeat it in his lovely Louisiana drawl and add, "That would make a good song." Most of the time, that tune would appear quickly, according to McCartney.

He said, alluding to a song that debuted in July, "I was very happy to have played on one of his latest songs called 'My Gummy Just Kicked In,'"

"He played me some of his new tunes, and it was a really enjoyable session. One in particular that I adored was "Bubbles Up." And I informed him that, in addition to the music being fantastic, his vocal performance was arguably the best I had ever heard.

According to McCartney, "He transformed a diving expression that is used to instruct people underwater into a metaphor for life when you're lost and don't know where you are, just follow the bubbles." "They'll lift you to the surface and immediately straighten you out.

"Bubbles up, my friend," he concluded.
