The Birth of the Beatles.
The 6th of July 1957 was a truly historic day. That's the day that John
Lennon and Paul McCartney met. The Quarrymen, John's band, were playing at the Woolton Village Fete.
But two weeks before that John and the Quarrymen played a gig at a street party in Toxteth, Liverpool.
We have Charlie Roberts to thank for booking them in the first place and also for the photographic record that we have today.
One of the photographs though very possibly gives us more than we were expecting, begging the question ... is THAT Paul McCartney watching in the crowd? If so then an important historical event has inadvertently been captured on film.
We're going to do a deep dive in this video and investigate!!
We're also going to visit the location of John's first gig - in Rosebery Street and viewers of this video will be among the very first people online to listen to the school song that inspired the 'Quarrymen' name - the original band which was to become the Beatles.
Two weeks after this gig, John and Paul met for the very first time. You can watch our first video showing the exact location here -

This meeting led to the Beatles and world and music history was changed forever. It would still be some years away that we would see the full line-up of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and George Harrison.
Thank you for watching this video, we hope you enjoyed it. We're a brand new channel and we sincerely hope to welcome you again.
