Tommy The Movie Hollywood premiere. In 1975 Elton John appeared as the Pinball Wizard in the motion picture adaptation of The Who’s “Tommy”. As a huge Elton fan I couldn’t wait to watch the Hollywood premiere party (broadcast on ABC television). What a strange time it was in Hollywood.
