I can play Blackbird on guitar but I never worked it out properly on the piano until now. It was the Beyonce version that gave me a renewed interest in the song. The chords are absolutely beautiful and it is amazing to think that every single one of them have a G note (notice that I am playing a G throughout with my left hand thumb!). I didn't realise until recently also that Paul wrote it about the civil rights movement that was happening at that time in America. I thought it was deep before I ever knew the story behind it. I love when you discover a new level to a song.
