Saying that Paul McCartney is among the most successful performers of all time wouldn't be a stretch. Therefore, it makes sense that so many people have attempted, with differing degrees of success, to bring the legend to life on screen. Apart from the numerous documentaries and movies about The Beatles that showcase the authentic Paul, at least ten actors have endeavored to assume his persona.

I made the decision to omit Eric Idle from The Rutles: All You Need is Cash since, in actuality, he plays Dirk McQuickly, a parody of Paul.
