On the way to Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains you drive through Townsend, Tennessee. This area has a wealth of history and places to explore. Santa and Mrs. Claus traveled to the Heritage Center and spent a couple hours back in time to the early 1800s.

The Great Smoky Mountains Heritage Center is a museum whose mission is to preserve, interpret and share the history and culture of the diverse peoples and Native Americans who have inhabited the Southern Appalachians including the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
